Default Mondeo 4x4

I think its about time I started documenting the work I am doing on my Mondeo.

so far I have striped the interior.

moved the battery to the boot.

fitted a nice steering wheel.

bought the seats (Forza 2000) with Luke harnesses.

fitted the induction kit.

ported and polished MAS and throttle body.

slowly fitting all the switches back together where the dash will be.

read it some where, its the HO one so makes sense, as the old plastic one had all the tags and burrs in it. and the new one is ported and polished. is it not better flow then?

I know its a bodge but it will have to do for now. I had some trouble getting the throttle to open properly but I got there in the end, ran it up to full temperature and all was good, ideals fine.

I bought a new rivet gun so i could put the door cards on.

and I fitted the harness.

the way you have mounted them harnesses is dangerous, the load is not going to be spread where it attaches to the seat belt wire and in an accident it could or would slice through it, you must mount it through the floor with backing plates underneath to spread the load.

Is it though? it is central, and the bolt and bracket that hold it in are meant to hold the back passenger seat belts. it seamed the best way to do it.

ill see what the MOT man says. I was thinking about cutting a seatbelt and threading the harness through, if you get what I mean.

the key is to spread the load you have the belt attached on an area about 3mm wide, you must change that...
loook at the seat blt anchors you took off they spread the load on the wire far more effectively

the harness mount is bad, i would change that.
in the p100 i drilled two 10mm holes in the floor and welded 15/20cm 1/4 inch plates underneath with captive nuts and mounted them.

the seat mount looks abit basic aswell.. if thats the word to use :')
if you cant afford the proper mounts just adapt the standard ones, that way the seat still moves.
ive done this in both the p100 and the mk1 in the same way, just two large adaptor plates that bolt to the seat mount where the standard seat would and holes to allow the bucket to be fitted.
