Default Cosworth oil seperator

I am fitting an oil breather seperator to my 4x4 cosworth, however i dont want to drill the cam cover, can i plumb the 2 breather pipes to either side of the block ? 1 pipe to the standard breather removing the kidney seperator on the inlet side, and the 2nd pipe to where the bung will be removed on the exhaust side. I would then like to use the drain where the bottom of the standard pipe from original kidney seperator goes to the sump to return the oil from the new seperator drain. what do you guys think, is this ok

That does'nt really tell me if I can or cannot use the original drain to the sump from standard kidney

You need to breathe from the kidney, and the only drain direct to the sump as standard is for the turbo oil drain, on the other side of the engine

Most breathe from the kidney and return to the other side if they don't have a direct fitting to the sump

no problems, thats the proper way to do it as the exhaust side one is under positive pressure so really acts as another breather instead of a drain

Presume James hasn't seen a 4wd sump hence not knowing about the extra drain under the kidney box
The only issue with using this drain from the separator is the bore size, I'm told it's not big enough and under heavy breathing the separator could overflow, IMO the engine would have to he well worn fir that too happen.
I it's fine to breath from both sides of the block, I'm am doing this during my engine build on my race car

Are we agreed that I can use a bailey breather to plumb it the way I want to ? Also can I use the large vent pipe on the underneath of the breather to plumb straight back to air box as mine has standard air box ?

on a road car just let the big vent pipe vent to atmosphere down near the ARB, you don't want your engine breathing all them nasty hot oil fumes

Thanks youth, you would be losing alot of oil from engine if the breather were to overflow, did'nt realise as much would pass through seperator !! is a bailey ok for the job ? who sells adaptors for both sides of block ?

a bailey seperator is fine for the job, I am using one myself on my car.
the adapters are on ebay to vent from both sides, on the turbo side it's threaded and on the inlet side it pushes in
