my escort was running boosting fine then jus cut out as if no petrol, gotr her home and checked metering unit am gettin pressure out the filter and got pressure out the return ect but no fuel coming out 4 injectors on the head of the metering init, when i push the flap down get some feul out but only runs for a couple of second then wont start again, so is only running briefly on the cold start, the pump is wired direct to battery have checked for vacuum leaks ect jus cant understand why hav no fuel all of a sudden , can any one help

 

Poss air in the pipes mate?

more than likaly to be the metering head is fobard had a similer prob and it was that part

 

sounds like metering head to me too.

 

can the meterin head be changed or would i have to replace the whole part as only replaced it 6 months ago could there be an air buble in the head it self but then wen i push the flap i get a rush of fuel so its as if the flap is not opening on its own ??
