having some work done on my 2wd head, new stem seals valve seats valves re lapped and ligh skim
Now the fella rung me a few days ago and said the exhaust valves are to far gone to re fit.
hes ordered after market valves which arnt sodium filled, have i done a wrongen fitting these or will it be ok at around 400bhp, ive been told theyre be fine up top 450 and not to worry

ummm; i personally wouldnt fit non sodium valves, but that's me.

Will be perfectly fine so long as 21-2N or 21-4N, a good 80% + heat is transmitted through the seat, the only thing that concerns me is why the seats have been "re-lapped", if you mean re cut, with a proper SERDI seat cutter machine that's fine, but they absolutely must NOT be lapped after cutting on a serdi, the serdi is actually that accurate lapping worsens the seal, some "old skool" people still aren't convinced that these machines can be that good!!
I'm not running sodium valves if that helps to re assure you.

i think as long as your fueling is ok paul you wont melt one, however when one of my cossies went lean it melted one of the exhaust valves and didnt do anything to the piston.....
