i have fitted a new pro alloy rad, intercooler,samco hoses and a 82* thermerstat. the system is fully bled. i get some heat out the heaters if parked up but nothing but cold air when driving. the monitor is reading 77-81* well driving.
any 1 had same problem and no how they resolved it? please help as winter is coming

 

maybe the matrix is leaking ?

Hi, when i had this problem i found that the matrix was blocked, put a
secondhand one in(that lasted about a year) so bought a new one, problem now solved

 

The matrix works by convection, heat from the input travels along and warms the water already present as opposed to hot flowing through, the end tank of the matrix is a open chamber so if the internal pipes are silted up water will just flow in and straight out again, you could try flushing, try Wynns cooling system flush leave in for around 200 miles not the 10 mins on the drive, this will remove all the sludge from the whole cooling system/engine and deposit everything as a congealed mass in the expansion tank which will need clearing out then, but it works perfectly.
be warned though it will also find any leak that may have been sealed in the past with sealers.
Personally though I'd just sling a new one in, do it easy in a good morning/afternoon, all the modern ones are aluminium, most from poland, good quality but no where near as good heat wise as original copper ones.
Why fit a 82C stat if wanting a better heater, it doesn't protect the engine any better or safeguard the HG at all.

Thank u 4 all ya advice, i shuda said that befor fitting any of this it all got hat and worked well and came nice and hot. will try a flush out as draining down could of silted up the return. thanks again
The 82* stat came about as the car was running a little hot on long trips. but it turned out it got hot dew 2 there not being a stat in at all.
only found this out when fitting stat rad and hoses

 

Engines don't get hot due to NOT having a stat, not having a stat causes it to run very very cold all the time, if it was getting hot with no stat, you may have a blowing head gasket, but you'll find out, a 82C stat will not in any way help the engine if the HG is blown/blowing, heat does not damage HG's.

thanks 4 that advice, its a sapph 4x4 if that maks a diference. blowing hg? wont the car use water if this was the problem? do the pipes top and bottom make a difference? as the top one conects 2 the return side of the stat and as a plumber i was allways told the return should never be at the top. gona flush it out on weekend but want 2 put pipes in the corect place. thanks again 4 the advice

 

Heres how I did mine mate

 

i just use a good powerful hose like above (i like a pressure washer), flush it both ways and get some sort of cleaning product.

 

turned out the matrix had air locked dew 2 the pipes being the rong way round? well swoped them over toped the flewed up that was lost and now i have heat.. mad int it
