When you say that the trap is fine........What do you mean????

If the trap is somehow having the water sucked out of it, then it will lose the "Water trap" that seals the smells coming up from the drains........

That'll be Let's air in (Air Admittance) but not out.

Has it previously been O.K and has recently started smelling and has nothing been altered anywhere on the drains or plumbing?

Is the over flow on the sink blocked with soap and crap and smelling?

Is the smell definitely coming from the sink waste?

Is there any sign of water leakage from the W.C pan?

.

It's probably just bunked up, when our sink pipe blocked up I was poking all sorts of twigs up there to clean it out, turns out that the scale that had built up meant that the inside of the pipe resembled a tube of concrete

So I has to change eveything over to make it nice and new again. Stick some si k unblocked down it and see if it clears the smell, leave it o ernight to do it's work but afterwards pop the trap and see if it's full of black sludge, might just need to clean it out properly.

just got home and my missus has had a plumber out and that what he has done but he said he didnt think it was from the drain, but didnt know where it was from, although did say it could be the stink pipe is damaged (the house is only 15 years old)
