Default drunk driver, no insurance and failed to stop, gggrrrrr

well, heres my little story, last sunday i stopped at a mates, just dropping something off so parked infront of his house, our lass stayed in the car, i knock on the door then hear a bang (which was the sound of a citreon people carrier being smashed into), as i turn around i see a transit tipper mount the curb, smash into a parked pug 206, pushing it into my car and pushing mine into a nissan, no sooner have the cars come to a stand still than the piece of shit drives off! so i do a sweeney style jump over my bonnet, reversed into the 206 to dislodge it from the rear quarter of my car and i set off after him, caught up in no time, mounted the curb to overtake (i made sure nobody was there 1st) and i get infront n pull the handbrake on. i jump out and as im having a good rant and shout at him he puts it in reverse but is blocked by another driver so he goes forward to try and go round the back of me, so i jump back in my battered fiesta and reverse into his van to stop him going anywhere, then take his keys and call the plod. he blew 79 miligrams at the station, twice over the limit. he wasnt insured to drive the van, but the owner does have insurance. the police are charging him with drink driving, no insurance and leaving the scene of an accident, and i wouldn't say all this without some pics for you lot to have a gander at, . have a look at the state of the van he tried to run away in, haha, wouldn't have got far anyway, lol.

then the pug

which recieved damage off mine at the front

then mine got bashed

and this is the state of the van, and thats the cock sat looking a bit pissed behind the wheel.

he hit the citreon that hard his own wing mirror smashed his window.

the blokes 50 years old too, cock.

was he a pikey???

wouldnt hold out on the vans insurance company paying out for your cars. Insurance cover will be for the named drivers only.

I would! I got paid when a drunk, banned and uninsured driver borrowed a mates car then stacked it into mine writing it off. Wierdly the guy who was driving got less of a fine than the bloke who owned the car!

It's totally down to the van insurers, the pay out won't be a problem at all.
good on you for "sweenying" him though, might have got away otherwise.
The owner/correct user of the van will have a problem, as the insurers are going to try and recover the money from him, just try and ensure the plod prosecute him for allowing a non insured person to drive.
Glad you're all ok, insurance won't be a issue at all.

ps more piccies of the girls would help!!

Your my hero no wonder there's a crowd of "laydeez" there, everyone loves a hero!

Shouldn't be any problems claiming, they'll offer him the choice of saying that the driver stole his car so you can then claim that way and the stupid old cunt will become a TWOCER (Taking Without Owners Consent) and should be charged with that AS WELL as the other things.
Or the owner could say that he DID allow him permission despite knowing that he wasn't insured in which case he will then be charged with allowing someone to drive his vehicle while knowing he wasn't insured.

I know young people get bad press for blasting about the place but I'm pretty certain there's far more old cunts out there drinking and driving.

she was the very beautiful reporter from the northern echo, i made page 2, whoop! lol. and the plot thickens, the man has said the bloke who owns the van sometimes pays him to do a bit of work, and the owner turned up 10 mins later and recovered the transit, so the plod have already ruled out it being stolen, they're gonna try and charge the owner for allowing it to be driven with no insurance, its on atraders policy as he has shit loads of vehicles. my cars still driveable as all the lights work, no fluids leaking etc, it jus looks a total mess, haha.

Aren't all car insurances required by law to pay out for any 3rd party damage???

They can try to get compensation from the guy who actually caused it but that shouldn't bother you as a "victim".

cheers for the comments, specially about the insurance, ive seen a solicitor anyway to ask questions and he's mentioned that under the road traffic act they have to cover the damage, unless they can find a way to void the policy, ie...the driver was pissed etc etc, im keeping my fingers crossed and hopefully i'll get sorted. it was only afterwards when i was lookin at my little fezza parked against the tipper i realised he could've driven right through me if he'd wanted to, haha, was rather good fun though and these things happen so hey ho,

the impact must've woke him up cause he didnt hit anymore cars during the "pursuit" though he did smack a fence as he took the corner, but that may have been cause i was tearin up the path on the otherside so he had nowhere to go. best part for me is the plod congratulated me on gettin him stopped and didnt mention anything bout me using the path to do it, thought i was gonna get a word in my ear for it,

Good on ya mate. Drink drivers really get my goat. What sort of retard has a skin full then thinks "Hey I know, I'll drive home". Wanker, end of..

as dawesy says. if they can find a way to void the policy they will. remember the policy holder/named driver wasnt behind the wheel.

the EXACT circumstances to how the guy came to being behind the wheel is important.
