Default ZVH/ZETEC Turbo bottom end JE pistons, Eagle rods etc etc.

Hi there,

Its hard for me to do this as i want to use it soooo badly but ive got to draw the line somewhere on what i want to spend on an escort. Ive already got a 1.9 cvh fitted and to be fair im happy with that.

I bought this from here a few years ago with the intention of dropping it into my series 2, i was going to get a sitech head gasket and a Dave Baker head for some big power, i picked it up myself and double bagged it in thick polythene and strapped it to a pallet and stored it on my racking at work so its been way off the floor and dry stored, ive turned it over by hand regular aswell.

Since buying the engine ive had my RS`s bodywork all done and havent used it due to being at a cross roads on what i wanted to do with her, i just want to begin to enjoy her "as is" because since owning her its spent more time having various mods done than actually being on the road due to being a summer pampered car.

Heres a link to the original for sale thread so you can see which engine it is and who the original owner who built it.

https://passionford.com/forum/ford-r...rbo-block.html

PRICE £550

Cheers

Dave.

I havent got any mate, like i said shes all wrapped up snug as i didnt want moisture etc getting in, the only time ive unwrapped it is when ive turned it over but until now i wasnt going to sell it so never took pictures.

James freshly painted the block black for me before i picked it up and the sumps silver, from memory theres a run or two of the black on the sump which i was going to sand lightly off and then touch up the silver. The pistons are obviously not shiney new as its been used.

I can if required get it down and unwrap it all to take pics, its just a pain in the arse to be honest as its stored 15ft up on the highest racking behind work stuff lol. its ok to go up there to turn over but not ideal to take pics so i would HAVE to get it down.

Lol, yeah i know mate but i was hoping to get her down when a sale was going to happen as its a pig to move.

I may be able to do something tomorrow but its a two man job and 95% of the time i work on my own which causes a few problems with controlling the fork lift and then somehow getting up 15ft in the air to load it onto my cage lol.

Just a quick update for now, heres the link to the original build thread

https://passionford.com/forum/restor...e-build-3.html

The bottom end comes with the decomp plate (if wanted), oil and water pump inc 3 different mounting plates for different managements, head bolts, modified engine mount.........it also includes the lightened and balanced flywheel, inc Arp flywheel bolts (which was especially dowled for this engine) that was extra cost but i wanted it as it was in my eyes a part of the engine.

The only thing someone would need to get is a dipstick and tube as i never received those but these are cheap as chips anyway.

Yeah mate, i thought it was a bargain price, priced it like that to sell instead of aiming too high and getting no interest. Plus the longer its for sale the more im going to be tempted to keep it.

Thanks for your comment mate.

Nah mate, if i get no interest ill keep it, too good to split as its built really well and would make big bhp and torque as is with a really good head. id be left with unwanted parts if i split and the price im asking is already a massive hit on what it cost me and 1/6th of what it cost to build in the 1st place, its only done 3k miles, 1k of which was running in.

Thanks for the interest though.

As stated mate in the title and description, its a bottom end "ONLY" fully built ready for the head of your choice........to be fair the price reflects the fact it wouldnt be a complete engine as id have to be on the brink of the funny farm to sell a complete engine for my asking price lol. I also added the original for sale thread link which also states its a bottom end and in my original description i mention i bought the bottom end and then i WAS going to buy a sitech head gasket and Dave Baker head but i got bodywork done and the bottom end has stayed wrapped and stored secure ever since due to not knowing what i wanted to do with the car in general.

I hope that clears up any confusing for anyone interested and thanks again for any interest shown.

Dave.

In its current form its a zvh, it comes with a ferriday decomp plate to lower the compression ratio but the best thing, i think, would be to use a sitech head gasket in its place as i was going to do.

The bottom end can be used with a zetec head, all that would be needed is the blocked water ways re opened up and a gasket and head fitted.

Comp ratio as a zvh will be 7.5:1 ( current state )

Comp ratio as a zetec turbo will be 8.7:1

Thanks

Dave.

I found this confusing you see.... Edit: Actually I read that as a 1.9CHV head. Dunno why must have been having a special moment

Is the ZVH compression ratio you state using the decomp plate? Which JE pistons has it been build with?

Yes mate, the compression ratio mentioned is using the ferriday decomp plate and a felpro head gasket, but i was going to use the sitech head gasket as i was going to use sitech to build up the engine with one of their heads and fit and map it as i couldnt get a Dave Baker head at the time. Using a sitech gasket would bring the comp ratio up so it would be a higher comp turbo engine instead of an older style low comp.

I dont know exactly what the part number is for the pistons, all i know is theyre forged and for a turbo application, im pretty sure je only make one set of turbo pistons for the 2.0ltr zetec anyway, you could message (sean) turboboss on here as the spec is the same as his bottom end was before he broke his car, iirc his engine made over 400bhp.

Hi mate, thanks for stating your interest via the thread itself, just wanted it in here so its all above board etc.

If your wanting it for a full zetec you are aware youll need to unblock the water gallerys that have been blocked for the cvh head as i previously mentioned because as it is its for zvh use but can be used for a full zetec if you wanted to spend a bit of time converting.

Dave.
