Default a little help needed please look

hello every one

one of my mate has got a escort s2 rst it running abit poorly first of all could some put sum pics up of how the timing should be as some monkey has tryed to set it up and im not sure they knew what they was doin so i would like to check it and make sure its all good they only thing is it has a kent vernier!

the other thing is if u turn the engine over and turn it off it sound like somethink is still spinning in the rocker cover ? any ideas

any help would be great looking forward to hearing from u cheers

Set the Vernier to 0, and take the rocker cover off and look mate.

as above set the vernier to 0 and then remove the cap,rotor arm, and flash gaurd then just put the rotor arm back on and in the centre of the rotor arm is a line and that needs to be lined up with the little slit on the outer edge of the dizzy (standard timing) then refit flash gaurd and car along with the rotor arm and that should be timing spot on

Igntion timing if you are running stock boost should be 12 deg BTDC, if your running higer I would set it to 8 deg just to be on the safe side and then have it setup by your nearest RST tuner.
