Can my Omex 710 still be a slut?
i have a xflow and a cologne V6 lump both becoming EFI

can i have, say a Omex 710 to share between the 2 cars with a ECU re-flash depending on which one i will be running for 6months, would save a fare bit just sitting doing nothing?

i picked up a 710 setup for a v8 with cop's(mustang) i want to run the v8 still and also a v6 efi cologne lump.
The ecu has had the internal drivers removed and 2 external bosch ignition module included in the package to run the COPs as wasted spark.
My question is what do i need to do/purchase/wire in so that the 710 in its current setup can be extended to run the v6 efi cologne lump as well? Will the signals to a COP be the same as to that of a coilpack?
Thanks in advance

Thanks Chip, it was Omex who removed the internal drivers, have already been in touch with Andy and the reply this morning was
It sounds to me like the best setup for you would be to leave the ECU as it is and run an amplified coil pack directly from the ECU.
I dont expect for Andy to give me a lesson in ECU ignition driver technologies and dont really expect Omex as a company to support me when the Omex 710 purchased for a V8 does exactly what its meant to do.... this V6 request is extra
Are there 2 types of coilpacks available, one amplified one type not?
I assume a lot of this depends on the ouptut setting on the ECU as to what coilpack is suitable?

Alrite! Nice one Chip....
I will get on and do some research for suitable V6 coilpacks.
iBall from powers is back this weekend so i will try and get him in on the loop for this.
U at the next Middx RSOC meet?

Not sure yet mate a got a lot on in the evenings at the moment.
You could always use two 4 cylinder coilpacks and simply not run leads to two of the outputs on one pack.
good thing about that, is you have a spare coil if one goes down, quick bit of roadside bodgery to swap the leads and input wires around and you'd be back firing on six again

thanks Jim will look into those, Andy from Omex has replied, he is a very help fella! He is going to sort out a base map for the V6 with an amplified coil pack so i dont have to do anything to the ecu just swap from car to car and switch the map!!
anyways here's the V6 cortina......

here the V8s destination........
