Apart from it being a repost I can't think why people find it so interesting to watch some rich twat drifting around an empty track/airfield/whatever in a WRC car...

I just find that whole hype around Ken Prick is a huge disregard to all the amateur drivers out their rallying/racing. Many of them are just as good or even better but don't get all the attention.

Fair enough if people who don't give a shit about motorsports are impressed by those gymkhana vids but we should really know better, shouldn't we? I for myself have a lot more respect for people who thrash a windy old Escort through a forest at over a ton, then for some bloke drifting around cones in a 200000 pound vehicle...

LOL yes. Look at the bit where he's drifting round that circle of cones. In one shot it's filmed from a camera inside the circle, in the next scene it's filmed from outside and the camera is nowhere to see.

 

I couldnt agree with you more there. Rallying is my thing, more so rallying from the 70's & 80's.

 

Just because we enjoy watching Ken Block throw a car about and smokin the tyres off it doesn't mean we don't regard all the amatuer race/rally drivers out there. As you say most are prob as good as him and better but they just don't have the PR machine he has.

 

exactly it's always good to watch but on them videos he can fuck up and it wont be shown so he look's flawless, proper driver's dont have that luxury and it's a 1 time shot on every corner.
