ive just bought a 1.8 cvh engine but it has been rebored to a 1.9 with forged low compresion piston strenghthed cod rods and crank shaft with uprated shells it has a rs turbo port and polished head with a fast road vernier cam with pully and also running a t4 turbo i have a print out from the rolling road and it was 268 bhp running half boost. i wana put it in my xr3i cabby wat do yous recon
to be honest it hasnt really got any lag went it is at full boost the wheels just light up,it is quck as FUCK my mate has a o4 impreza wrx and it couldnt touch it and that was only running half boost. scared to run it full incase something blows lol, i have receipts adding up to just under 5k for the enigne rebuild but the guy ive bought it off has put it in a xr3i and its not running right i dont think its wired in proply and a few vacum pipes on wrong, what will i need to do to put in in my escort xr3i cabby as it is efi and the engine is mfi, fitting the engine is the easy part but the wiring im fukced lol
so what will be best t3 , to be honest it goes like shit of a stick but it doesnt seem to run for long the turbo seems to die of staight away but i dont no if its the gearbox thats in it cant keep up with the engine, and bearing in my mind i dont no much about these cars or the turbos because im a new car person my self but he told me it is a t3 turbo with t4 internals and couldnt really find that possible, can any one give me advice on how to do my conversion
T3 Turbo with T4 internals? Hmmm. Sounds a bit fishy to me. Also, whats 'half boost'? Half of what? It's like saying 'how big is half a hole?'
Strengthened conrods? Any idea what was done to strengthen them?
I dont get what you mean when you said the turbo seems to die off? A T4 turbo on a CVH would still be making boost long after the rockers have vapourised.
i think it might be the box its running on because it just seems to limit straght away but you can tell the turbo wants more and what i mean at half boost is 13 psi at 220 bhp and 196 lbft at 5.500 rpm

specialisedwankers! We got an engine from them and what a fucking mess it was i ended up having to rebuild it, it was that bad. Never ever again!
