Worth a punt for £100 I thought, took it home and stripped it. No4 was a mess, but the block was STD bore anyway, head was fine, crank was mint STD/STD, con rods fine, and all the other bits and bobs were ok.. Got the block rebored for £80, and kept the bits as spares!!

 

RS500 style (base model, needed the cut out sorting) lower spoiler bought from local scrap yard for a fiver....perfect condition with both plastic end clips in tact.

 

50 euro for 2 immaculate 90 spec RST Recaros at my local breakers!

Mine was,
I bought a Renault 21 turbo for £250 on a k reg( last made) absolutely mint other than, damaged front passenger door, front bumper in the boot.
The bloke was quoted £2k to repair it so just wanted rid of it.
I got a new bumper bracket for £5, and refitted it. And bought a mint passenger door in the same colour for £25.
So for £280 I had a mint car.
Then the gearbox failed but I had a spare so fitted that, it owed me £150, so £430 in total.
I then sold it for £1000 and a Renault 5 gt turbo with loads of mods.
I then hook about £1500 worth of mods off the 5, Inc. Big front brake kit, big exhaust system, silicone hose kit, new diesel rad, external oil cooler kit, front mount intercooler kit.
Think that's it. Put all the bits on my convertible 5, then mopped the other 1 and sold it for £1500.
That was the 1 and only time it's happened to me tho lol

was back in 2000... I had some nasty replica 18' Turbo wheels on my Boxster that I bought for 600 squid (plus my original 17' porsche wheels) from company called Speedart. He called me up and said for another 300 do I wanna upgrade to some new 19' ones that he has new in...

I said yes. fitted em and everything... they looked exactly like the old ones

A week later Speedart rings me up and says can he buy em back as he has bloke desperate for what turns out to be only set in country that I have! (still never seen anymore!)

I said no...

he calls back again and says what about a straight swap for some genuine BBS LMS...

I said no as I didn't know what they were!

I was chatting to Renton later that day and just dropped it in to conversation....

he called me every name under the sun and that I must be a complete cunt!

I called speed art and we did the exchange! Turns out the bloke who owned the BBS was loaded and that he just hated cleaning them and didnt care about money. He just wanted the wheels I had. He actually PAID Speedart £100 for doing deal for him!

Numpty was easily over £4k's worth of wheels and tyres.
