If I'm free that weekend I might pop up.
Was up at Shakespeare a couple months back for the new tractor pulling event
but the missus ended up being more interested in the drag action.!
And I'd love to see your car on the strip Luke.....fed up reading about it, and want to see it for real

i've been going to ford weekend for the last couple of years, its a realy good weekend.
they got tractor pulling and lawnmower racing there aswell.
heres a bit of info on the weekend.
FORD FEVER HIT’S THE STRIP!
Since the sixties, the UK drag strips have rumbled to the sound of modified Ford
power plants in every configuration, from 4 to 8 cylinder’s, turbo’s to blowers -
Ford motors and bodystyle’s have always been firm favourites with racers from
the earliest days of UK drag racing. Now classic cool meets modern performance
as Anglia ’s, 100E’s, Cortina’s and Escorts hit the track alongside late model RS
and Cossie models at the ultimate blue oval weekend!

This Autumn at Stratford-upon-Avon ’s Shakespeare County Raceway, Ford fans
have an opportunity to up hold Dagenham’s honour in a weekend of quarter mile
Blue Oval madness at Ford Fever – Shakey’s Blue Oval Challenge; part of the new
line up of Public Track Day events scheduled this Autumn.
Billed on the weekend of October 2nd/3rd, Ford Fever is open to all Ford models
from any part of the world; English, American, Australian - it doesn’t matter. If it
carries a blue oval badge, then it’s good to go!
There will be the traditional class trophies for the quickest RWD, FWD and 4WD.
The weekend is expected to draw a healthy club interest too for Best Club Stand
as well as the traditional Show & Shine. Club stands are free.
A new addition Ford Fever will be the raceway’s very own Quick 32 Bracket
Gamblers Race with qualifying sessions, race eliminations and handicapped dial-
ins. Everyone’s welcome to take on the Gamble of a crisp ten pound note towards
entrance fee (in addition to the £20 track fee) which automatically goes into the
prize purse dealt out to the winner and runner up. Trophies and goodie bags are
also part of the winners haul sponsored by Classic Ford magazine.

Old Skool, new Skool, it doesn’t matter which because the Old Skool Fords will be
out to play in a double header points round for the penultimate round of the Old
Skool Ford Drag Challenge. There’s also a round of the National Street Car
Challenge too. Other events and attractions will be added when confirmed. But all
you need to know right now is where, when and how much…?
Shakespeare County Raceway is the venue, at Long Marston Airfield nr Stratford-
Upon-Avon, October 2nd/3rd. £12 per day per person buys you a ticket to the
event, but for additional £20 per day or £35 for the weekend buys you unlimited
access to one of Europe’s quickest and fastest quarter mile drag strips as well as a
chance at taking part in one of the many Run What You Brung on-track timed
class competitions and Bracket Races. All you need is a fast Ford, DVLA Licence,
crash helmet and provided your car passes a quick safety check, the track is
yours.

The weekend also features Tractor Pulling and Lawn Mower Racing all with easy reach of the drag strip at no extra charge.
