Default FRS charge cooler mounts

Got some bushes to replace the original cooler mounts, Does the
Charge cooler just pull off when you take off the boost pipes?

Thanks!

yes you just need to manouvre it out the way to do the bushes, its usually the single one nearest to the wing that goes, mind and disconnect the battery when doing it or you'll touch it with the cooler box.

did you pay fords stupid prices for the original bush as the normal focus airbox bush works for a fraction of the cost

Hi mate, yeah I Sussed it in the end.. And it was the single one that's gone...
I got poly bushes to go in there, but fooked if I can get them in lol. So just ended up swapping 2 around for now until I can figure out a way to press the new ones in...

how is the cooler mounted? is there a bracket that holds it?

im fitting one to mk4 cab so would be handy to have the bracket to modify.

It just press fits into the bushes, which press into a plate that looks Ike it forms part of the gearbox mount..

just got my cooler this morning, the 3 mounts are part of a plate which unbolts from the bottom of cooler so i'll make a bracket with same holes as that. does it have to be on rubber mounts?

I was gonna mount it solid to engine/gearbox since pipework can be solid too as it'll all move together.

its on rubber for a reason mate, you dont want it to crack and let water leak into the inlet side,if it leaks from inside and you dont know then it will lead to engine failure.just buy the focus airbox bushes, there only around Ł10 for all 3.

ill have to try and find the bracket it sits on too then as it only came with the lugs which are bolted to bottom of it. Or drill a plate out to suit.

By mounting it solid i meant bolting it to a bracket through rubber bushes anyway and mounting that bracket to engine/box. Surely that would be enough?
