Default squealing noise .. is this wheel bearing?

mk6 escort 1.6 finesse ...

got a high pitch squealing noise coming from front passnger side.
does it on and off, but going round corners one way it doesnt do it, going round corners the other way it does it even worse.

also jacked the wheel up gripped it at 12 and 6 o clock, and there is quite a bit of movement in the wheel. does this sound like wheel bearing .. ?

if this is wheel bearing how do you got about replacing it?
had such a nightmare with car recently. did clutch, then drivers side driveshaft was making a hell of a noise, now this...

do you need a press or something to remove it? how do you do it. seen new bearings for 13 quid on ebay.

or would i be better off getting a second hand hub? and switching over.

help plz!!

aint heard of it squeling but is hub bolt tight? I had this problem with my s2 and ended up hub bolt was loose and brake disc was rubbing against caliper which caused the squel so have a look at this but if not it probably is the wheel bearing. They aint hard to do. Your better taking hub off the car via extracting driveshaft, ball joint, track road end and taking off shock. Once off take out the seals to show bearings which will probably fall out in bits if knackered revealing the 2 races. Both races come out from middle to outside of hub. Way I usually do it is lay on a hard surface and use and old chisel or screwdriver and hit round full circumference so it comes out straight will be tight but will come out persevere with it. Putting new ones in the exact same except I usually use a socket the same diameter as the race to knock back. Always make sure the race is right home you will see the ledge it sits up against. Sounds a bit more complicated than it is but is pretty straight forward, hope this helps

What he ^^^ said, often you can use the old outer race to rest against and protect the new race outer whilst drifting in, depends how deep it needs to go.
