i wouldnt replace a clutch at 50k just for the sake of replacing it. i've known cars with 150k-200k with original clutches still doing well!!

what sort of driving do you do and when you come to a stop at traffic lights and junctions do you hold the clutch at the biting point or put the car in neutral and the hand brake on??

also on a 1.6 i dont see the need in an uprated clutch!

if its high(pedal)you need or will be needing a new clutch in the not so distant future,
also get the hydrolics also (ie 3 piece clutch) if you dont and its goes faulty its start over again time!!!!!!,
NO NEED TO UPRATE IT ,USE STANDARD ITEM

fair enough if i replace it i will use standerd item, at lights i put clutch down leave it in 1st and have my right foot on the break, to be honest i think it is also
my seat position i have long legs i moved the seat back its a lot better but my misses drives it to and she's a short arse so the seat dose not always end up in the same position, but even after all this it still seem's to be bitting a bit high

when it goes in for a services a will see what they say

could be the pressure plate has weakened a little due to foot being on the clutch soo much.
