i want a chip for my s2 but dont want to spend hundreds getting 1.my car is an 1989 s2 90 spec with the knock sensor,cant remember what colours it is but its not hearts and diamonds,its red and black squares.i have found 2 s1 blue red blue ecus close to me with turbosystems chips.can i take the chip from the s1 ecu and use it in my s2 ecu?or will the knock sensor facility cause a problem?also the chips are both turbosyatems,1 is a silver top and the other a blcktop iirc,anybody know the difference?ta,lee

 

dont even have to swap the chips over, just put the s1 ecu in your car, knock sensor is a load of shite anyway. Not sure on what you mean silver top / blacktop?

 

probably means silver top - spark ecu and black top - fuel ecu.

 

The chip will not work if you swap it over, but the ECU will.

 

aye, probably, AFAIK turbosystems black top ecu just removes rev limit whereas the silver has the chip inside

 

i have a series 1 ecu on mine mate but i had 2 swap the chip over as karlos sez they dont work. just disconect the knock sensor like you said load of shite n they retard the engine like fook thats why my tuner fitted me a series 1 ecu but swapped my chip over.

 

im running s1 ecu also, was told it was the one to have out of all of them.

 

I was a bit confused with the black and silver but the guy selling them is selling them seperately but has the same pic of them both together.will I need a bleed valve to bypass the Amal valve also?

 

No, not unless you have no other form of boost control, event then get your tuner to set it up dont turn the boost up yourself!!
