You can see straight through the hole where the driveshafts go in a normal box, but can't see through the driveshaft hole in an lsd box, well thats how you'd tell on an rst box. Easiest way number plate of a focus rs go to a ford dealer and get the part number match it to the box Ur buying.

i think you have that the wrong way round mate.

i have a 2l mk1 focus with mx75 box and a standard 'open' diff and when i changed my drive shafts on friday there is a rod going across the middle of the whole. this is due to the design of a standard diff. lsd's dont have this and therefore you can see right through unobscured. (i dont know if all lsd's are like this though but 99% sure they are.

sorry but if you are reffering to escort rs turbo boxes you are wrong.

LSD (RST) boxes have a 10mm hole as you look down the Driveshaft hole and through the diff

Non LSD boxes have a thin bar that crosses the driveshaft hole, thats the standard geared diff.

not criticising just making sure everyone knows excatly what they are buying, the amount of arguments i have had with sellers when i have driven miles to pick up a box is unreal!
