YB conrods options
I'm about to start a million threads about part comparisons so bare with me
The standard rods in a YB are good enough but what i need to know and see what you lot recommend.
Choices are getting the:
Std rods balanced & shot peened (from £280)
http://www.oselli.com/services_engineering
Or
H section forged items (don't be put off by the starting price) as these are ready to roll
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT
I'm thinking more along the lines of costs on this as i'm confident both would handle what would be thrown at them

Do NOT use those cheap rods, stock ones can take some serious punishment anyway.
If your going to fit some proper steel rods use Arrow or Carillo ones otherwise what you have is fine.

get standard rods shot peened, just make sure you spend ages cleaning them after and get rid of every little bit of shot!

wouldnt take them that high, 600 maybe
although we change them at anything over 550 really as our engines at at 8k/8.5k revs so wouldnt fancy std there
but to the original poster, std rods are perfect

The firm I use are just testing some makes of rods at the moment soon to be making thier own though, so maybe another contender on the market this year.

Tab,
Do you know everyone in the engine business? Every thread on this site that you get involved in - you know someone or a company doing research or testing. You are certainly a very knowledgeable guy to have on a forum
