Make sure it's going into and coming out of the new filter, if not look at the pump/filter, if is then look at the metering unit.

Cheers, could i be right in thinking its an air leak? as before i changed the parts it would run for about 20 seconds then cut out and take ages to start again, then when you came off the throttle it would instantly die

Right i've found the airleak, one of the breather pipes wasnt tight on the inlet manifold, sorted that, took banjo off before the fuel filter and no fuel is even getting to there, any ideas?

You've fitted the fuel pump connectors on the right way? Otherwise it might be forcing the fuel back into the tank rather than sucking it out
