Default Zetec turbo just bought

Just bought my 3rd rs turbo for a toy after selling my focus rs due becoming a dad. It's got a rover turbo inlet and it looks a bit bodged on the throttle body. Is there a proper part yoy can buy as this appears to be made from sponge and pu sealer. Also is it worth fitting a blacktop head? It's running a big bearing diesel box but i am not sure whether it is up to the job, heard cts rst stg2 box are good. Would appreciate some advice, cheers

what bottom end has it got, as i don't think you can use a blacktop head on a silvertop bottom end.
get some pics up fella.

will update with some photo's asap, it's red may still be on pistonheads. Rolling roaded 258.6 bhp and did 5.3 secs 0-60 on strip.Number plate is e444 avx and is on the photo gallery on here. Will the bottom end handle this with calibra turbo pistons? Theyve apparently benn flat topped. The car is from the southampton area, i think danster76 used to own it. Would appreciate some advise buddy, nice resto job really wanted a white one!

I know the last 2 owners of this car,(Danster76) didnt own it,it was a friend of a friend of Dans. It was originally bought as a track car probably 10 years ago or more with the cage and bits in it, then it was sold to a guy called Jason who put all the zetec turbo and rover inlet and stuff on it.

Cool car, used to have a bad boy bonnet on it though which isn't my cup of tea but each to there own. I know it went well.

Difficult to compare i should imagine as they are two very different cars, if the FRS was standard i would think think the escort would feel faster, as older cars in my experience always do!

the escort with that power will definately feel alot quicker and the pistons are capable of a bit more than that but beware of rods and oil pump if you plan on revving it hard

Cheers guys, hopefully going to replace the rods and pistons when funds allow. The focus rs is the one that was featured in fast ford in april this year. The guy raced his mate who had an st. I did all the work but the guy took most ofthe credit for it. Typical! The erst should be quicker due to the power to weight ratio, although my frs was 6 secounds faster to 140 than the st. Will let you know what it's like when it's running!

Also can anyone give advice on the rover turbo inlet thread as it's been bodged. Is there a part that can be used to make it fit to the throttle body? Thanks again
