Anyone know about Evo 6's? Tommi Mak in particular. Value etc.
I looked at a white TM Evo this morning.Guy wants a deal on my FRS.
greddy cooler
big stainless rad
new clutch
hks induction kit
3" exhaust, i think hks
sard d/valve(sounds the bollocks)
tein adjustable suspension
Imported 2 years ago. All paperwork there but i cant see anything relating to mileage. 4 uk owners, 2 i know of. 2nd last guy hpi'd it and it showed 40k miles. Now at 46k miles. Has the MOT's in between being in uk. Not sure how to know if thats right or not
Seats are mint with no wear indicating low mileage or a spiky size driver since new.
So thoughts on a post card on value? TME should hold value better? Condition does point at low miles. Is import worth less than uk version?
I'm not even sure i want to sell the focus but the deal would probably see me own a car worth more for less.

A guy through work was selling his TME one a few weeks ago, ( maybe a V not a VI ) I think with more mods than that, and in black ( very rare limited ) and he was after Ł13k.
PM me if you want his pics adn full spec with e-mail addy, and I'll send it across.

Drive it slowly & turn right if it clicks like a cv joint noise the bolts will be broke in the transfer case not the end of the world happened to mine! Nice cars handle great really sore on fuel seen a fair few rough 6's now for low money.
I got my focus cheap but have spent a LOT getting it how i want it and no expense spared.
I fancy a straight swap.

I had one as you know 5 yrs back Chop, great car it was too, turbo is slighty different to the normal 6 too, check the AYC is all ok, they do tend to rust too underside believe it or not ( like a cossie)
because the imports weren't wax-oiled.
Has the car been mapped Chop?? just wondering WHY all the bits, i.e bigger cooler etc etc..

Yes it has been mapped. Last time it was on rollers it made 386 bhp but he was told the actuator spring needed changed. He has one but hasn't swapped it. It didnt feel 380 bhp fast when i drove it.

Also, what torque was it running? 350 lb/ft is generally deemed the safe limit on a standard engine. Beyond that there have been con rod failures on standard engines.
Maks do hold their money a lot better, if it is in very good condition and has a verifiable/believable low mileage then it is worth a few quid.
www.lancerregister.co.uk is the address for the Mitsubishi Lancer Register, a very busy forum with plenty of cars for sale, might be worth a browse to compare prices etc.

I dunno if he sold it yet or not and I can't get the feckin pic on here.
Hell of a spec list it had though.
And reg plate Y600 EVO was included.
Seem to recall titanium turbo though

All the mak's had the titanium turbo wheel afaik
great cars, definately on the "must get round to owning one some day" list for me
i'd want a standard one though TBH not one that had been played with.

Don't know if its much use to you Chop but there is a good Evo buyer's guide in PDF format on the MLR homepage - might be worth a look at.
The TME's are lovely cars; would be good to have one myself some day. Keep us posted with how you get on with this one and hopefully i'll see it in the flesh come August time

No idea on prices chop, but I was recently polybushing an evo 6 and 3 of the rear Aluminium suspension arms were split where the steel surrounding the rubber bush had choroded. quite hard to check, but if you can DO IT, they vary in price from something like Ł120 an arm to Ł280, this poor guy needed 3
Front brake discs warp fairly easily too.
These are very expensive cars to maintane and run, so bear it in mind.

What boost is it running? If it's a Mak then it should peak absolutely no more than 1.6 bar and hold around 1.5 bar. Beyond that the inertia on spool up snaps the spot weld that holds the ultra lightweight exhaust wheel on... At which point your turbo is FUBAR.

I have located 3 of the 4 uk owners on the mlr so going to try calling one of them tomorrow. I'd like to kn ow how they verfy the mileage. It seems to be a known car and pics from 1 yr ago are MINTED. Car sold in dec 08 though for Ł9100! is that just because of the credit crunch?!

Im sure our local dealership will run a check on the computer and if they have not been done then its free.
Use Station Garage Torphins though
Clutches clutches clutches, i went through 2 clutches and flywheels in one year of track abuse with mine. Also had to get it serviced 3 times in that year as well
lol
Nothing that special about the TME
There very much over priced for what they are basicly a GSR. But they do fetch more as there a ltd edition.
Red ones tend to fetch abit more than the white ones also..
The one that everyone seems to be after now is a 5 or 6 RS model... There lighter and come with the RS Diff. Great for a track.
Depends what your after..
All are imported tho
