my mate has a mk5 ph2 zetec s (black top zetec se) he asked us to have a look tonight as it has started playing up today, its generally down on power and running rough/ lumpy low down the revs. initial thought was coilpack.
pulled the plugs out and 3&4 were wet with fuel.
i'm a little confused as i would have expected 1&3 or 2&4 to be wet if its the coilpack.
checked 3&4 for spark and it looks ok, dancing around a bit over the tip but a nice clean blue spark.
any ideas folks?

 

Not burning oil is it?

 

i dont think it burns more than usual, he says he has to top it up occasionally but nothing more than i would expect.
just to add, the car has done 110k miles
