Not sure if this is in the correct room, please move if required.

Last nite Newhaven Con Club caught fire and was burnt to the ground.
We were there until midnight, had a good evening as always as you can take kids too.
My 5 year old daughters friend Asha (9 years old) lives there with her mum and dad. Due to the fire they have lost everything, and I mean everything, only what they slept in remains.
Always you hear of fires etc but never really take notice, but when my daughter heard what has happened, the first things she said was I hope Asha is ok, and she will need a new Nintendo Ds, she was even offering to lend her own one to her.

I'm glad everyone got out ok and I know this will sound harsh, but isn't that why the rest of us buy insurance - to protect ourselves?

And if they live in a club, presumably the owner (the Conservative party?) will insure the property, so all they had to cover was their belongings?

 

No, fair points mate.
Main reason is for the little girl to get a few toys / games etc as the insurance will take time i`m sure.
If everyone donated £1 maybe or even 50p (not to me I must add) she could have a few things
