Default saff playing up again......

aup me howds, anyone got any idea whats causing this problem?

my saff has had its head kicked in every weekend recently with no probs, today i came to it,it wound over but wouldnt start.

there was no noise from fuel pump, wound it over a couple more times and it still wouldnt go,it had only been parked up for 5mins,but me mate said if the fuel pump was pressured it might not make its whirring sound anyway because it was 'ready to go'

anyway fucked about with the little plugs on top of the coil,it fired but stalled on me and came to life again all the way home, did it about 4times.

anyone any ideas? dodgy fuel pump or dodgy plugs on coil?

anyone know what those plugs on the coil do anyway?

Check the fuel pump wires corrode, if you cant hear the pump motor give it a tap with a hammer with the ignition on and see if it primes.
I think the wires you are on about are the feeds to the coil are they clean. ? check the feed woth a test light, but go for the pump first.

Coil could be on way out or its the wiring on the plugs, mine actually cut out today and it was the wires on the coil.

If the car has already been brought up to temp, then generally they don't prime, this has nothing at all to do with the pressure already in the fuel rail/line, as there is no pressure sensor the ecu can't know what pressure there is, it is a time/temperature based decision whether to prime or not, and each car can be very different.
Sounds more like a loose connection, just do the wiggle test with the engine running, better to sort now than pray when in the outside lane of the M25 when you remember what you forgot to look at!!

my fuel pump wiring got checked last year and was deemed to be ok,we wiggled it and rocked the pump and all sorts and it wouldnt go,its only when we wiggled the wires on the coil that it went, whats getting me is that it hasnt played up for weeks, then just does it out the blue yesterday

Have you covered the basics, I.E is there a spark at the king lead? The connectors you mention are the coil connections the black one being switched live hence why it is black, and the green one is ground this is switched by ECU.

As said the pump will not always prime.
