Default Water in the spark plugs but not screen wash hose

Hi
We have a 2005 Ford Focus LX Automatic and have been having the same problem for a while now, and it looks like a very popular problem. We have (rain?) water in our spark plugs too, we have checked the screen washer hose and the water is definately not going from there, we have also checked the oil to make sure that it's not a head gasket problem. We have had the car fixed three times now with the same problem (twice by mechanics and once by Fords themselves) The last time we had it fixed they placed a sealant around the cylinder head but the problem still arose?? We are now at a complete loss as to where the water is coming from and are considering getting rid of the car which we really don't want to do as we inherited it from a very loved relative. help please!!!

Two problems with this car , the core plugs in the top of the engine sometimes leak , but then you say rainwater is in there so that is not it , so its the second one , if you look at the washer jets on the top of the bonnet you will probably see no seal between the bonnet skin and the jet itself , Ford omitted this on early cars as they did not think it was needed , we have swapped loads of the early jets for the later rubber sealed jets and this cures the problem .

Tabetha - Talking about roughly an inch of water at the bottom, and no problems with expansion tank.

JonathanJ - Already checked the washer jets and connecting hose and can see no visable leaks in either?

Its not a leak from the pipe , its rainwater getting between the jets body and the bonnet skin , if you look at the jet it will not have a rubber seal between the bonnet and jet , the later ones came with a seal , it is a known problem , changed loads of em , some under warranty .
