Default MIG Welder - Recommendations

Hello,

I'm after a MIG, its only for the odd bit of welding here and there so ideally been looking for something s/h thats less than £100 - But does anyone know places that sell NEW MIGs cheap (I'v seen one or two for £120) - MachineMart are expensive.

Thanks

Yeah I read that too - I'll pass.

Seems s/h is the best way to go - Had a few MIG welders like that and thats how I got my ARC welder.

Just have to wait for a bargain I guess.

If you do any work at all....it is worth spending the money on something decent.

I bought a Murex 141Amp machine some 16 years ago. And apart from a new torch and wire speed pot...it has been faultless. Absolutely worth every penny I spent on it !!!

If it broke, I would have no hesitation in spending a few hundred quid to replace it knowing the years of service the right machine can give.
I dont even use it that often now, but when you need to weld something....its just impossible to use anything else.

When making plates up, what metal do you use (Tin) and what thickness would you suggest?

Oh and where can I get some!
