Default Webasto Sunroof? - Now with pics

Ive got a webasto sunroof in my vw golf.

Last night when I went to shut it, it closed as normal and then dropped at the back and so now it doesnt sit flush with the roof.

Does anyone have any ideas what might have happened or what I could check before I have to pay a fortune to get it looked at??

I will go and take a picture and see if I can post it here.

Thanks

good sunroofs!, i had 1 in an old S plate mk1 fiesta

have a look at teh bars that goes sid eto side, sounds like yours dropped out of the grooves and when you put it back the bars are on top of the runners and not in them

Did quickly check the runners and they seemed to be ok. One of the buttons now seemed to have stopped working as well. Not having much luck with it!!

Think we are going to have to take all the roof material down to find out whats wrong - not what I wanted to do!!

It doesnt seem to have come away from the frame, you cant just push it back up either. I really dont want to take it to a webasto dealer as they will probably charge me a fortune.

Yes, but he couldnt work out what has happened to it. Even phoned James and he tried to help but it was hard to describe on the phone. He advised me to google it and see what came up but nothing seemed to be relevant.

I know on the ford's when reprogramming the windows etc you need to open the window then hold button in open position for 3 secs or something like that.

There should be a manual wind screw or something for situations like this. Have you tried taking off the plastic panel over the switch and see if there's something there to be able close it manually?

Nope!! I was planning on my washing my car this weekend too but what a good excuse to stop me

I think I might just have to pay someone to look at it as it is so noisy when on the dual carriageway.

noise isnt that important,

the fact the car will fill with water when it rains is sligtly more important lol

is there no instructions in the handbook? as said there should be a manual winder somewhere so it can be closed if you have a motor or power failure
