Most ive seen from a high spec Rover lump is over 500 hp this was on Northampton Motorsport rolling road not long ago , it had the forged pistons steel crank and rods and a huge turbo running something like 2 bar + real eye opener on what can be done.

Well a day of highs and lows
we had a few issues and we have restriction on the inlet manifold and the cams, we need more lift
the engine has loads more potential but we are happy, engine just screams
we have 300bhp and 320bhp but we are only at 5500rpm
reckon with cams and inlet sorted later in year 350/350 is achievable

what boost you running mate. my new cam's have so much lift i had to machine the buckets out in the head got big valves as well same size as standard cossy ]i think.
theres a lot more in there yet mate good result may be a bit more boost
heres an old vid of the sherpa engine same rpm 5500

1.6>1.7 bar of boost, but engine just can't consume any more air at 5500rpm. Raising the boost just raised the air charge temps and gave no gain in bhp.
Going to run like this for Combe and look into where the power has gone

I'll put the graph up tomorrow, the cams has 8mm of lift and 260 duration but they seem to have too much overlap
Compared to the old engine which was an 8v the torque was always going to be lower

good power certainly should shift
my nova has cams in it with 10mm lift (std c20xe), running with ported head,87mm omeags, and farndon steel rods t34.063, 750cc's and 16psi its making 332bhp 330ft lbs (also on k3)
the inlet is restricting my nova's power also hoping to change to jenvey itb's and run a pulsar type plenum
sounds like the goon and my nova would be evenly matched

Gary I recon they would be simular upto the braking zone as presently the Gooon wont stop
We have a plan of action for after Combe, can anyone pick holes in it
Custom cam with 10.5-11mm of lift, less overlap and longer duration
Inlet valves to be replaced with Cosworth inlet valves
Replace top half of inlet manifold

i had 284mm discs and willwoods with there smart pads, it was probably down to pad compound but they wouldnt stop me very well on the road let alone on track these ap's (same size discs) are on a different level

Spoke to my mate today he said go for an M series inlet, a 270 cam on a regrind, clean the ports up. He wouldnt go for Cossie size valves as it will limmit the lift you could run on the cam, unless you had massive valve cut outs.
luke, i was wondering how you would get on, my gut feeling was sadly right
same old story of " we have sold thousands and no one has had any issues" yeah what ever
Ratty
great power with some more to come, i feel left out with you all having great power
i have to rely on being a super sonic driver and 100% traction
joke

Well after some early promise the Wilwoods wont go one without new discs and brakets so the good old faithful compbrake b16's are back on
For fucks sacks dont anyone get in our way as we'll be using your backend to slow us down

Can someone confirm I'm setting the pedal box setup right
Front 0.625
Rear 0.7
Front bar is about 10-12mm longer with pedal at rest than the rears
Bias bar all the way to the front
Rear proportioning valve reducing rear pressure
Fronts only just lockup before the rears on test, with rear proportioning valve half way down on the back the rears lock up first. I was hoping to remove the proportioning valve and just set the pedal up on the box
