Replacing the amal valve with a bleed valve?
Hi guys, thinking about fitting a bleed valve instead of a amal... do i need the bleed valve with 3 ports or 2? Also if i do fit one do i need to do anything to the amal valve wiring plug? And finally, i have found that to the right of the crankcase breather hose on the side of the metering unit there is a smaller pipe. Does anyone know where this goes?
Thanks
Thanks

I have 1 hose going from compressor to actuator with bleed valve fitted in line.
The 'R' return from the amal valve to the metering has a bung in the hose going into the metering.

The jet between the compressor and amal valve (C on the amal valve) controls the boost spike, the jet
presents a a restriction to the inrush of air to the actuator. Larger jet hole less spike smaller jet hole bigger spike.
I run a std amal valve jet in this port 2mm i think
The jet in the vent port (R on the amal valve) which vents to the air box controls the held boost. The jet dictates
the bleed rate of air from the compressor/actuator circuit. small jet hole less held boost, larger jet hole more held
boost.
My set up uses a -31 actuator half mooned on the preload 2mm jet in c port 2.5mm in r port it give a 18 psi spike and held 16psi

bleed valves are seen as a bodge in some peoples eyes
Thanks guys, unfortunately im still 6 clutch bolts, 1 water feed for the turbo and a idle control valve-metering head restrictor away from hopefully a running car. Time to ring Ford

amal valve to hold a bar ?
Its a case of trying different jets to suit, try a 2mm in each port and adjust the preload to get you desired boost level, see how you go
