Default major clean up ( small update 11/04/05 )

i have decided after getting underneath the fez that i want to give her a bit of a spruce, so thought i'd show how i'm getting on over the next few weeks. although the car is mint by all accounts, a few of the components on the underside are hand-painted so i'm gonna get them powder-coated ( unsure of the colours just yet )
anyway this is the car when i bought it a couple of months back

looks clean i know but after first getting under just to clean/polish i spotted things i could improve on so now i'm gonna

i'm also going to do in all of the wheel arches, these too are mint but the coilovers are looking just a bit plain and need a good polish and the hubs look unsightly too.plus you'd be surprised at how much difference replacing old rusty screws and bolts can make

this is the rear wheel arch, i'm gonna remove the lot and powder coat the springs and paint the shock, also clean and polish anything else

i'm also removing the bumpers to clean behind them, this is the rear

i'm also polishing up the zorst
slowly over the next few weeks i'll update my progress

right heres a few more shots of the arches with everything removed. and of the underside. this is actually the dirtiest the car has been since i've owned it as i used it in the rain one night.

front arch.the hub will be either sprayed or powdercoated black. i have new bottom arms and track rod ends going on and the rods will be painted. then i will repaint the inner arch as the paint isn't the best in there. also the silver paint you can see will be redone. i am undecided if i'm gonna put the arch linings back in or not?

underside. the compensator is gonna be removed and either replaced with adjustable bias valves or i'll overhaul and repaint it. the fuel tank needs a good polish and the rear beam might need a touch up.

rear arch. this just needs a good clean and polish before things go back on.

small progress update. these are the front calipers and their mounting brackets. they were covered in crap and the ally wasn't shiny at all. so with a bit of elbow grease the brackets and the ally bits on the caliper were polished up nice.

caliper

mounting brackets

done a little bit more now but my camera is broke so i have to keep borrowing one til mine comes back from jessops. i have now completely removed the ABS and renewed all of the brake pipes and master cylinder. i have painted inside the arches and fitted some of my new parts. i will try to get pics of all that asap, but for now i only have pics of the rear beam and brake discs. i had the rear beam powder coated along with some suspension parts.

rear beam;

brake disc and bell( the area between the disc and bell needs cleaning up!! )

i'll post more pics soon

also will try to get some of better quality cos these are shite!!
