Default Not a good day for my cossie.

I know its not much, but considering i only had it chipped yesterday, its a bit of a bummer. Found out that the exhaust manifold gasket had blown, so decided to take it all apart so i can order and fit a replacement. But, as i pulled it off, a bit of metal dropped to the floor and noticed the manifold had a corner missing. So, now, not only cant i use my new chip, i need to buy a manifold too. Oh and also, my cold is getting even worse. What a cack day, lol.

If anyone knows of one for sale, can you pm me or let me know.

Cheers
Mike.

2 WD exhaust manifolds are easily available and not very expensive
.....also check/service your turbo damper, AFAIK a manifold breaking
up like yours indicates that the damper is seized/ineffective

i fitted one a little while ago as the old one was shagged, so maybe that was the cause.

I've got a 2wd exhaust manifold sitting here.

Not sure what the going rate is, but I can get it off to you in the post tomorrow.

Postage would probably be a little though...........

The problem you have is EXACTLY the same as what i had.

I bought a TOTALLY standard 3DR like you, with original pipe, wheels ect ect

At the end of the day you are putting near on 300bhp through a 16 year old car...................it wont last FACT. You cant expect to not find faults as now the power has been put up it will find the weak links.

But stick with it as once you have replaced it you will be fine.

Exhaust--Your 16 year old one wont last long

HeadGasket--Once done you will be ok unless you want MORE power

Clutch-- Once done forget about it

Suspention--You will want to change that unless you like the TITANIC wobble that standard stuff gives you

Bushes--I noticed yours are knackered yesterday so once thats done it will stiffen up the ride

Tyres--You will need beter tyres to keep you on the road
