My father in law has had some bad luck and in one of his sapphs has broken the block.
he has another sapph with a good engine in with long studs swedish inlet GT35 and lots of goodies which was built by A1 and told its good for up to 500BHP ??
He is going to put this in his sapph with the dead engine and get it set up 400-450.
what gearbox or gear kit is good to use with this.
Also if he goes to get it set up to this with a standard box untill he gets one will a tuner actually be able to set it up with standard box??

Depends on how much you would like to spend fella, quaife box is 3k plus the vodka and tonic, not sure on prices on the barra units, swedish fixit kit is good but its hard to get your hands on spares,

Personally I'm going to go for one of the oppliger boxes off Romain in Italy 1700 quid and a little bit more to then fit the gearkit into my casing happy days

Slightly off topic, a GT35 good for 500 and then some.....

If he's only after 400-450 i'd get that off and sell it and replace with a GT3071...

what would say its good for. with
GT35, swedish inlet, long studded, siemens black injectors as far as we know standard internals apart from multi layer headgasket.
he bought the car cheap as the nipper went through a few gearboxes and had some engine issues. (a bad missfire) which was sorted by binning the jap plugs that were in it and putting some NGK9s in
