Default not priming anymore

Got it turning over fine and got spark but the fuel pump is not priming on ignition anymore and no fuel getting to the filter. Never used to have a problem since I swapped the relay over months ago and have tried using a known good one today aswell.

Do I need a new pump or is there anything else I can do/check for first?

If I do need a pump what should I get? Think its got a standard pump on it already but running stg2 T3, FMIC, Magnex, K&N on a rebuilt engine now.

CheeRS once its running am planning on getting a sparky to wire up a switch on the dash so I can do without the relay.

I know it worked ok b4 the engine rebuild but am probably as well replacing it anyway.

Just bridge the pins on the relay and see if it comes on, then you know if it's the pump or not

try the cheapest first! Change your pink relay. I had exactly the same problem, and the problem solved after changing the relay. It had burned inside ...

Have already tried using another relay and no joy. Just need 2 get some wire and try bridging it. Could the safety relay have kicked in when my engine blew and thats why its not working? Can it be checked or re-set if needed?

Run a live from your battery direct to the pump and see if it spins up. If that dont work then its defo the pump

another guy had the same problem on here last week.... turned out to be his imobiliser just stick a multi meter across the pump, If you have the appropriate voltage and you pump isn't running then you need a new pump if you have no volts then its something else.

Simples

A new uprated pump is on its way, figured I may need more fuel anyway with an uprated engine. Hopefully that will cure it otherwise it is something else electrical.
Just don't see why it stopped so suddenly as the relay was replaced a few months before and the pump primed no probs before the engine blew.

If we knew when things would break it would make the job easy! I am affraid when it get old it decides at totally random points to just stop working.

With the RST you cant assume anything!!!!! test EVERYTHING.

New pump fitted tonight but still not starting or priming. Have got fuel coming out the filter so pump must be working that far at least but don't think its coming out of the injector pipes at the metering head.

Am pretty sure I have spark but difficult to tell when by yourself. I did also try weighing the flap down on the metering unit using a heay socket to hold it open while I cranked it over and still not starting.

I checked to make sure the correct plug was on the auxiliary air valve too as the red/black wire from there feeds to the pump too and that was fine.

Is there anything else I can check? Will go and get a multimeter tomorrow to help.

A new bigger fuel pump wont give you higher fuel pressure as its controled by the metering unit. You would need to mess with the fuel pressure elsewhere to get more fuel. NOT ADVISED

A std ERST fuel pump can run 300bhp why need more?

Putting a socket on the flap of the metering unit will flood the engine and it will never start.

You need to get it to someone with experiance of MFi without all the bukllsh1t or guessing and net waffle....

The car has gone to an auto sparky today and was told that there is a problem with the starter but don't know what exactly. Anyway it could do with a new one so gonna try and source one tomorrow so which one for CVH?
Have read the diesel ones are the way to go for a faster spin but from which model, engine, year etc help please.
