zetecinside.com, and short answer no. not straight forward but not impossible.
firstly you need to cut
inner wing to make room for 5 speed gearbox, and same at other end to make room for length of engine. new engine mount welded in, new fuel system, new loom and ecu, mk1 xr2 geabox cradle and driveshafts

hello iv just put a rs1800 zetec in my mk1 and still using the 5 speed ib5 
you need to cut out the inner arches . iv used the front engine mount on mine witch is preaty easy to do but yes its a easy transfer
