calm down big bollox, was half asleep wen i replied, you can trade them in, i personally looked at a 2nd hand unit and found no body that could unlock a used unit the only option was to use as a trade in but didnt seem to save me money. If its not been used then plug and play mate, i have bluefin on mine and am happy with the set up now.

cheers chop, demontweeks are sellin new bluefins for the st170 for Ł215 so think it would be better to buy a new 1 that is guarenteed to work rather than a used 1 that might not,

Handbags down chop!!

rsfido is right, once it is used it is locked to the car. It can be reset by Superchips, but for the cost of the reset and the cost of the second hand bluefin, you may as well buy a new one.

Dreamscience units have 5 lives. I've got that on my ST, its the bollocks

I have had both. When i installed blue fin i could feel something was different, its was a little bit more responsive but that was it. Im on dreamscience now and you can definately feel there is more power there. I have had mine RR'd at 189bhp with a few other mods. You cannot get a dreamscience handset now as they stopped making them. Dream science now only offer a one shot map for the ST170 but it means you have to go to them to have it loaded onto your car. Best thing is to look out for a second hand dreamscience handset and send it back to dreamscience who will restore its lives

so the bluefin is not worth the Ł215 that demontweeks want for it.

Both a waste of money IMO, i did a bit of asking about when i was thinking about getting on or the other. Seems you will be lucky to see 5bhp once fitted.

You would notice more of a difference if you cleaned the car out of rubbish etc. and put a panel air filter in the standard air box.

There's rarely much to be had by OBD tuning an N/A car. You'd be better off modifying it (filter, exhaust etc) and then getting a map specifically for your car that makes the most of the mods you've got.
