The guy who i sit next to at work has just stated that the only reason that people who own fords dont really like subaru's is cos they are jealous...

I'm trying to tell him that we are really not....

OK Shell, easiest way to work it is first to explain why YOU dont like Subarus.

A lot of people dont like things without knowing why.

How can we be jealous of Subaru, Hmmmm let's have a look at they're range - There's the Impreza.....um......uh......mmmm okay, what have we learnt?

What i dont get is when people slag cars when the car is BLATANTLY better than what they drive in every way.

Scoobys are common as fuck, most the owners ive met are tossers, and the engine isnt exactly the ideal base for tuning, but id still have any Impreza Turbo over any FWD ford (Barring a full-on caged up track S1 which id rather have over a UK non-sti scooby), and id have a 22b over any cossie barring a RS500 (if similar power).

People have bizzare hates of cars and most dont know why, or kid themselfs why...

 

as above. MOst people with cossie's could afford impreza's, skylines, rx-7's, supras etc etc. I for one have no idea wtf I chose a cossie but would have it over scooby any day.

I dont like impreza's because any I have ever raced have been proper slow, they sound ok at cruising speed but I hate the way the engine note doesnt change and they dont seem to rev (as much as other cars), they are seriously common, a lot of them look wank, although they can look ok.

 

I don't like them because i was going to look at one and almost ripped my hand open while trying to shut the trunk

you can buy k plate scoobys wrx for like Ł3500 thats the price of a rough saphy

 

All that shows is Cossies are overpriced

 

I don't dislike *all* of them, there's just an abundance of idiots buying them, and then fully believing their car IS the fastest thing on the road. Excerpt of conversation with bloke in beer garden of pub, (which he started). More or less verbatim, apart from last bit.

I happen to quite like Scoobs

 

I don't like Scoobys cos I think they look wanky and although I've never owned either, the Cossie, whether its a saph, 3dr or Escy, is harder with much more tuning potential. Plus the inside of a Scooby looks like a Datsun!

 

I must admit I used to be one of the "I hate jap cars" type of peeps. With no real reason behind it.

I fugured the fact that I only ever heard my dad going on about how bad Jap cars are rubbed off on me (bare in mind the last time he probably worked on a Jap car was 1976! )

I love my fords though as it seems to be in the blood. Ok they aint the best cars but I dont care!! I've got my little fiesta road/rally car and it does me fine! I do think cossies are overpriced for what they are. Anything that has a high demand or status amongst a group always costs more

Anyway better get back to work!

Yea, a Cossie of the same age is worth far more than a scooby, no doubt, but Cossies arnt the only fords, and that dont really mean they better does it.

Its like Shell was gonna or has put a "Scoobys are Shit" sticker on her 2i

I dont like scoobys really apart from Sti spec upwards, but my main problem with scoobys is the owners think they FAR better than they are.

But then most people who dont like em think they far worse than they are

I don't think I 'hate' scooby's, just don't like them that much.

I think the relatively standard Subaru's look fairly bland and just too damn jap looking whilst the more expensive versions look good, but then almost look too OTT like I was in Fast and the Furious or something.

I'll stick with my fwd Ford thanks - I know my pistons are probably more chocolatey than a Subaru's but I know how much everything costs to run on my car whereas with the Subaru there'll be some computer/sensor/component you forgot about until it goes wrong!

used to slag scoobys off something rotten, a mate of mine has always had them. Took him out in my cossie and he was quite impressed. He has now bought a two door sti wrx abc.... took me out in it was well suprised, fast as fook!! Had to admit that it was a nice motor

Sister's bloke has a scooby. Just WRX non Sti model but it is a fairly quick car and will let you easily overtake most things you'll see on an everyday drive!

He loves his car, it's his pride and joy but he has said a couple of times he'd rather have had an Evo any day if he could have afforded one. He's just a ptrolhead in general which is why me and him get on so well I think. He bought the Scoob cause it was within his price range for a brand new car.

I think the thing with a lot of Scoob owners like my bro in law is that they want a brand new car so they know it's not been thrashed to death or treated like shit in the past. As you all know, there's no Ford alternative in the showrooms. More's the pity....

Unfortuantely some Scoob owners are so blinkered by the hype and bullsh@t that they think the only possible way of going quickly is to own an Imprezza.

I went with a mate to buy his Imprezza and the dealer told us that standard there was ample power to upset Cosworth owners and with the PPP it wasn't even worth worrying about them Maybe that's half of the problem with the owners, it's cos the dealers tell them shit like this
