Get representation is the best thing as they maybe able to get him off an automatic ban by saying needed for work purposes or home purposes ie baby on the way.

If they cant do that then a reduced ban and fine maybe the way forward. Or highjer fine so no ban.

I collected 12 points in 3 years and got a Ł350 fine and 3 month ban.

A mate of mine got caught doing 114mph in a 70 on the A127 and he got a Ł250 and 6 points!!!

A mate at work got caught doing 92 in a 50 and he got a 3 month ban and Ł150

Its all different but getting representation will help alot.

Coming back from Trax this year I saw the snide f@ckers with no signs to pre warn. I hit the anchors with an indicated 120mph on the bus's speedo and my mate that was trying to keep up tore past despite my frantic waving

A few days later a NIP from the thames Valley Police came through and he'd been clocked at 103mph. He was offered 3 points and a driving awareness course

www.abd.org.uk is a good site to get info from and has links to places that may be of help to you

I got 1 month ban, no points and a Ł155 fine! I was lucky as that was for 109 even though I was hard on the brakes!

Firstly

Ensure that the NIP clearly shows the details correctly IE full reg date and time are correct and that it is their car

They can ask for a copy of the photos too but this is normally charged for now

Then does the NIP suggest that they are willing to deal with this through the fixed penalty process ... if so take the 3points etc

The new laws that are being talked about with lower points for lower speeds are confusing matters in the courts at the moment and make it easier to get a lower ban etc

Is the NIP just a nip or does it have a date saying come and see us in court ie a summons

Then

Once you have these decide on the following things

1. Why were they doing 103mph
2. What were the road conditions ie traffic flow , weatehr etc
3. Any previous
4. What outcome is acceptable for them

if its a summons they are looking at a potential ban write back to the police/cpourt saying yes you was doing it etc and the reasons why

Ie your were rushing to get back to your missus cos she was having funny pains etc

Then this is called your mitigating circumstance for the offence

This will only give the courts the reasons as to why your speeding

THEN you need to help them understand the reasons why they shouldnt ban you this is called mitigation also , sometimes known as EXCEPTIONAL HARDSHIP

You need to show that if your banned your job is at risk etc and your home

You shoudl also play the card of teh baby that is you work approx 30 miles from home and you commute if you lost your licence it would be incredibly difficult to get back if things go wrong (proof of bus timetables and trains showing its a mare is always good)

if you do LOADS of milkes then you can show that you are normally safe and responsible

if your still not sure get your self representation

Mine cost me Ł2500 about 6 years ago and got me a 3 week ban and Ł200 fine for peak speed of 143mph and avergae of 114mph over 7 miles at 3am on the M25 Mutha fuckas

i also had 9 points on my licene at the time

My Dad was nobbled similary to BigNige.

They done him for a peak of 142. Don't think my dad's comment when stopped did him any favours in court and the magistrate said it showed a lack of responsability and understanding of the offence he'd commited. The traffic cop asked what he was doing driving at speed's of 140mph and my old man replied "Slowing from 155" That was a Ł2k fine and my mum went mental

It's one of those comments you really know you shouldn't make and you know it will have reprucutions but it just kind of slips out anyway.

If I said our house had a frosty atmosphere for a while it would be an understatement They laugh about it now though my dad more so since the points came off

I got caught doing 101mph on the M62 in Yorkshire.

Went to court with no solicitor, just a letter from my company saying my licence is needed for my job.

Come away with Ł180 fine and 6 points!

if its not a sumons then hes not gona get a ban as ya need to attend court to recive a ban ( a good hint for this is offer to pay the 30 quid no show fee theey charge ya and if they refuse there thinking abiut banning ya ass

when i was done 2 times in 3 days for silly stuff and i thought i was gonna get a ban i wrote a nice pritty letter saying i was a courier and needed my bike licence for my job and dint mine reciving a ban from driving a car for a few years ato make the fine smaller just as long as i dont loose me bike licence for me job or else i wont have a job ect

they gave me 6 points for 1 and then another court gave me 3 points 3 weeks later for the same offence but on a different day

the fine for both was 150 quid plus costs thats 100 from 1 and 50 from another

now what i was gonna do before was use my "im a traffic warden" lie to save me kicence but a girl i worked with at the time used that when she got done for being 4 units over the limit and said she neede her licence for her job as a traffic warden and the courts reply was ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

as you are a traffic warden you of all people should know better and should lead by example , im noting to lead you by example and give to a automatic ban of not the minimum of 12 months BUT give ya 24 months to think about what ya have done

, when she told me i decided the best thing to do was to talk bollock and lie like micheal jackson about his felling to young boys

beong honest helps in life , shes now got her licence back but i bet she wished she was a lying tosser as when i told her when i got my first 6 points she actually stoped talking to me

Fair enough, I can agree with you there RS Baz. Although the stretches have too many roundabouts in round my old neck of the woods for anything decent! Had to stick to the M3!
