For the third time this week whilst coming off of a roundabout my car has made a popping sound and suddenly backfired and started chugging down the road. I have pulled the car over to find one of my HT leads has come unplugged from the distributer?!? seems odd that it has happened 3 times?
the unplugged lead is all times the same? Can't be something else.. or your lead is for bin, or your dizzy cap... Try the cheaper first, you can find a new cap for 5-6 GBP on ebay..

yeah its always number 4
The leads are only a few months old.
No idea how old the cap is. Although I would never have thought that the age of a dizzy cap would matter, except for if the points where completely shot.

glue the leads on.
i had this once with a set of megaleads, i didn't glue them on, but changed cap and opened up the connectors a bit to make them sit tighter.
bit of super would stop them sliding off under heat etc.

Yeah got meself a new cap on the way. as its only cheap. The connector inside the cap end of the HT looked a bit squashed as well so i just opened it out a bit to make it a tighter fit.
Cheers for the feeback everyone!

Went in the other day for a set of cam chains for a triumph stag. So off he troted into the back room come back with a box, blew the dust off it and slapped it on the counter!
I only have a few pics from when it was being restored underneath and when it was at the tuners. I havent taken many pics of it, Mainly because the bodywork is in a right old state these days.

Just looked through your thread, the picture that is in your sig looks awesome and has got me thinking about how good mine would look on white alloys. Any idea when you'll get round to doing anymore work on it?

Ahh I see, I only asked as I think mine would benefit from having a new one next time it goes in for a service. I think they sell them in my local Motor Factors but 9 times out of 10 they're not original components and the durability isn't as good.

Well the folks are hopefully getting a garage built in the next couple of weeks. So when that is done and I get a bit of cash saved up i'm gonna steal their garage for a bit, strip it down and tidy up all the body work. Just need to save up some money for all the prep. Then I may paint it myself depending on what sort of quotes I can get. I have done a bit of spraying before and tbh, even if I do a shite job it will still look better than it does now!
I mean the bonnet is almost white in the middle its got that faded. Spent a few hours the other week with the old t-cut! looked much better, but then the sunshine this week has just faded it again already. The paint on the bonnet roof and top of the wings has just had it completely.

Haha white wheels are a real pain to keep clean, because if you dont clean them at least weekly they soon get stained. Especially between the spokes!

I might get a set of white ones for the summer and use the black in the winter.
If your confident enough to have a go at spraying yourself then I can't see the harm in it, like you say regardless as to how it turns out it will more than likely be an improvement. If I had a bigger garage I'd be doing allsorts to mine, as I don't then all I can really do is polish it although that hasn't happend since it's been off the road
Have you got any more info on your spax suspension, i.e what model they are and a price? Mine are rock solid even on the softest setting and to be honest are more suited for track driving which is something that doesn't appeal to me currently.
