Firstly! I hope people have got the day off and are out in there beasts soaking up the lovely weather? Its not even summer yet and we have had a nice week of it!

I'm in the process of ordering parts to service the following car:

2002 Ford Mondeo 2.0L Zetec

Is the following items right:
Oil filter (paper and can)
Oil
Spark Plugs (4)
Air filter

Right, i'm right in saying it only has 4 spark plugs and this model has the stupid paper and can filters but how much oil does this beast take? Is there anything else i should be ordering for a service?

Yes it has 4 spark plugs, and buy a 5 litre bottle of oil and you'll have some left. As far as the oil filter, it's just a normal oil filter.

 

do the fuel filter and pollen filter while youre at it.
brake fluid would be due for renewel if it hasnt been done for the last three years.
cambelt (and tensioners ) due at 80k miles

 

make sure you get the right grade oil as well as they dont like having the wrong oil in

 

Doesn't the 2l zetec have 2 oil filters? a paper one and a can one?
Oil, 5w/30 aparently?

no it has one filter. there is a hell of a lot more to doing a service than just changing filters/oil/plugs!

 

Yes 5W/30, they dont like normal multi grade shite, not that you should use that anyway, but it can cause sticky valves in Zetecs. ive had four mondys, two Zetec engined, two V6 Duratec engined, always used 5W/30.

 

erm, are you really sure you should be "servicing" this car, when you don't even know how many spark plugs it has, and you are asking about paper and can oil filters.....???
