Exclamation Had a bit of a heart stopping moment tonight!!

Was out mapping, just got to the point of Det, told my Bro to let off, and then as we were just running on he says to me "Karl! We've lost all power!!!"
Coast down to the side of the road and after checking for a spark, and fuel to rail, it's still not starting.....
Turns out the multiplug for the inlet manifold had come unplugged!!
Was thinking the worst (as you do with RST's), thank fuck it was something simple!!! Plugged it back in and started up straight away!!

On a positive note we hit 160mph (+/- 1mph) in 5th @ around 6000rpm

Currently peeking at 24psi and dropping off to about 19psi as the RPM increases, the Stage 2 T3 is completely maxed out at that (AVC-R hitting 90% Duty), and my injector duty is peeking at 98% so It's not a situation i'll be using for every day driving but will be nice to see what it makes on Christians DD rollers!

I think this pretty much sums up me and my Bro as we sheepishly coasted into a lay-by...

lucky lad, bet you did shit it though.
i had a similar problem on my cars maiden voyage out after fitting an additional fuse box in the bay for a load of ancillaries, forgot what a wire did so only bunged in a 10amp fuse, turned out it was the main wire for the internal fuse box, shit it when i flashed my lights and everything turned off!

Very much so!! I was like..... "We have fuel... we have spark... compression??!" lol

No mate not even close to that, at absolute max I think 240bhp, but i'll be happy with anything over 220bhp, really it's all about how it drives and what I've managed to achieve through my own hard work, i'm very happy with it whatever it makes on the RR!

But my attendance all depends on how much i get paid this week and what the weather is like!

one of these cus it was something so simple
i know that feeling though when it just goes and you feel like you wanna be sick
had it with mine after i fitted beiges/powerchip etc- starting setting up the fueling for more boost and stuck me foot downto see how it was, it came on boost then juddered and wouldn't pull i thought the engine/turbo had seen its day- pulled over expecting teh worse.
lifted the bonnet and some bubble wrap i was using to protect the inner wing from the enclosed filter i was using had come un-stuck and been sucked into the filter blocking it completely

I have one from a previous run hitting about 5900rpm in 5th, but it wasnt a run from 1st to 5th, I went into 4th at about 2500rpm up a hill and then put my foot down to put the engine under as much load as possible and was listening for Det, so obviously it took ages! lol
I was going to do a run tonight from 1st to 5th as fast as I could, log it and video the Tacho/Speedo for people to see but as you know I dont have a fucking gearbox now!!

sadly karlos i think you might have been told the wrong gearing as theres no way you could pull that speed with your power and weight you've got to remember tony t only did them speeds with 300+bhp and jamsport had 320 to crack 160 don't mean to piss on your fire just seems hard to see you pulling them speeds with 220-240 bhp and as your only holding 19psi at the top your losing a lot of power up there as is would love to be proved wrong though

That is very possible mate!
I was told the Final drive is from an XR2, and it is much longer than a normal RST box thats for sure, also I am hitting the speeds in the lower gears that my ratio's, final drive, tyre size, and rpm, say that I should do.... so I can only assume that it is correct for 4th and 5th too?!
I'll probably never run this FD again (as it is a bit long really) but I'll get some video of the Tacho and Speedo and data logs when my next box is in and see what everyone thinks.
But whatever happens I am hitting 6000rpm in 5th and whatever my gear ratios are, with 205/45/17's that is going to be some speed!! lol

98% duty cycle is a bad place to be in, you'll end up overheating the injector drivers.
Get some bigger injectors in there as soon as possible!

Hmm, the gearbox calculator thing is only theory. Use a Sat nav or something, it would be more reliable for a speed indicator.

Not knockin' it as i have a lot of time for the graft you put in. I just can't see how a 230-240bhp Cabby is hitting a genuine 160mph.

The rev counter could be telling porkie pies.

Just from the cars we have timed and my own RST experiences, that seems a hell of a lot. Fair play if you have mate, but i wouldnt take the gearbox calculator and your rev count as gospel. Keep it up though man!

rst speedo's rev counters go abit off when you start winding them up,i reckon you would need at least 300hp+ to get 160+mph

you have done some serious work, so get the gearbox done and enjoy
what gearbox did you actually have karlos??

Cheers Chip, what would be a good injector upgrade?
I've turned the boost down for now, and was only going to run that for the RR session to see what I made maxed out! They were up at 106% until I noticed!!

I know what you guys are saying it does seem fast, but the gear/speed calcuator is not theory it's based on physical meassurements/fatcs... so how can it be wrong?!
Obvioulsy I'm not using the RST rev counter! LMAO
I'm looking at the reading on my laptop from the ECU as i'm mapping!
TBH i'm not really interested in top speed runs or aything like that, it's just a fast road car, I was just pleased with the results thats all, and as I said above, 6000rpm in 5th is a good speed whatever my gear ratio's are.
