apparently they call you up to tell you your card has ben used etc, ask you if you have made any purchases, give you the whole speach about the need to call your card issuer if you suspect anything wrong or that you need to validate their authenticity, then ask you if you still have posssion of the card yadda yadda yadda, and then ask for the security number to proove it

which is what they are after as they';ve already got everything else (otherwise they wouldn't be phoning you right? )

how old is this trick as the british transport police have just issued a statement to say "be aware of this cc scam" and yet i though it was years old
