Default S1 gearbox's

Ive just sent my standard escort s1 rst gearbox off for a full refurbishment, however a couple of people, aswel as a lot of you guys, seem to hate the bc boxes. Im looking to restore my s1 to concourse standard, but if i change the gearbox to another type, will it will completely go against the point of being concourse standard?.... any ideas???

oh and btw im looking to be putting out aroun 200bhp on low boost max...

They're only a problem really if you're wanting to push big power.....200bhp should be fine if the box is rebuilt properly, if it's concourse you definately don't want to be cutting the car about trying to fit an mtx

hmmmmmm looks like il have to wait and see how its going to work when the cars built....ive neva owned and old skool ford before, ive heard about their 'unique' reliability standards .......lets see how the BC box handles then....ive heard the diesel box's are straight swaps aswell?

It has terrible ratios unless your trying to set a top speed record and have an unlimited anount of road!

My car came with one fitted and the gears are soooooo long!
Imagine trying to run as fast as you can, but you have to take the biggest strides you can whilst trying to get to your top speed, takes aaaaages, thats what it's like for our poor cars! lol
I dont like it, some might... TBH my current gearbox is a bit too long as it has a XR2 final drive fitted
