Latvala will comepete at Nurburgring with FOCUS RS prepared by students.

The Ford Focus RS is being prepared and entered for the race by 20 students from the Cologne University of Applied Science under the guidance of professor graduate engineer Frank Herman. Technical support for Team FH Koln Motorsport is provided by TRW, Dekra, Dunlop and Castrol. More pictures here: http://www.auto-power-girl.com/image...ace-4183-10853

Irrelevant who it was set up by, its front wheel drive and doesn't have a 20 year old cosworth engine so will either be buried in the barrier or at the back of the grid after the first coouple of corners!
I'm Sure they didn't scrap them, proby still kept in the powertrain development lab in Essex. It would be nice to see if they were really slower or just to expensive to put into production

Majority of development cars are destroyed when Ford have finished with them!
Some of u do talk alot of shit lol (no offence meant) just imagine for one moment that ford were still with cosworth and the new focus was a 4x4 cosworth focus = best seller in that market and instant cult car lol. Even if i ask my parents bird / mates who dont like cars about the cosworth they all know what it is but the focus rs they just look at u like your some sort of a chav who still wishes he was 17 lol. And at the end of the day if it came down to a full prepped 4x4 or rwd focus rs to do the ring in it would be faster than a fwd one!. Now before i get shot down again im not saying i dont like the car as i do im not saying i hate fwd im just saying its not as good im saying that if only ford had put a little more into the car just my opinion i know there is lots of u out there who love it being fwd but i do wish it was 4x4 so i could see how many of u would be on here saying na they should have made it fwd would be much better lol

At the end of the day I am sure Ford could have produced a 4x4 focus that would be quicker than the current one. But how much would it cost? The FWD one is already a vast amount of money for a ford focus, so would you pay the god knows how much extra for a 4x4 one in this modern day?
Remind me next time to listen to your opinions on what would be quicker, rather than the opinions frm the boffins at Ford who test these things

Not quite sure I understand you, but Subaru started out 4x4 so not much had to change?
Anyway, I'm not sure what you are basing your argument on, because Subaru's are, well, gay

and that dont handle as well as an evo! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGEymxBPgB4
The problem is that IIRC Ford only have that crappy Haldex type 4x4 available at the moment, not a Torsen type like Subaru.
The haldex stuff is shite on a race track as it only feeds power to the rear wheels when the fronts start to slip. Therefore the car still handles like a FWD car with a very "understeery" setup, but improved traction. Thank god they were brave enough to dismiss this kind of alibi 4x4 in favour of a radical FWD concept.
The other option would have been to develop a proper torsen 4x4 system from scratch but then the car would have probably broken the 40 grand barrier...

Unless im being really stupid, but what does the 2010 wrc focus have in comment with the road going rs?
surly ford have a good idea of making a 4x4 and pretty dam quick too?
Plus doesn't the have to be a certain amount of road going wrc cars for the ruling?
