Default Exhaust System

....Hi all I'm seriously considering converting back to the standard exhaust system for my car because my current system, 2.5" to back and 4" tip (Scorpion) is way to loud for me but does sound awesome at full chat!

I don't exactly want to lose power but I just want something quieter than now.
Any thoughts on what path i should take?

I always loved the sound of my Mongoose. Mine was 3" bore, 4" tailpipe, so was louder, but even still, wasn't too bad, even for an old man like me. LOL.

Mines a Scorpiion and I have no interior or sound deadening and I wouldn't say it was too bad. With a full interior it was quite acceptable

Its just a matter of cutting into a perfectly good system.
Maube adding anothing silencer will be better in the long run over the stock exhuast which will probably rust anyway!

Thanks

I've got a 2.5 bore with 3.5 tail mongoose on mine, and it's almost silent, sounds more like an xr3i lol, but apparently its loudish from outside the car.

Would adding a removable tip baffle kind of like the ones on the universal exhaust boxes you can by make it any quieter?
Or will it make it sound like a wet fart?

Yes it is bugging me. My car is a cabby too and with the roof down is even louder, i just want something quiet at idle and cruising yet sound good at full boost.
TBH i'd rather listen to my turbo spool up than the exhaust.

Most probably i'll look into adding silencers into the system.

Definately a thought, but i don't exactly want to lose any power..what would be the consequences of reverting back to stock?

Plus i can't find any stock exhaust anywhere or if anyone has one?

Currently still mfi, stage 2 turbo and head, just reverted back to the airbox and also has chipped ECU. So power wise i'm pretty happy with what it has.

my cab has got a 2.5" mongoose system with 3" rolled out pipe and isnt loud at all with the roof up, its really quiet, gets louded when you give it some love but even then its not deafening, obviously with the roof down its louder but even then the wind noise is worse then the exhaust noise.

Well after a long drive on the motorway the sound of the exhaust was deadly! Stereo had to be turned up just to overcome the sound.

Since i can't post in the wanted seciton for some reason, to any one reading this text and has a standard s2 rs turbo exhaust system in good condition (no holes, rust etc) please pm me.

Been searching car parts websites but can't find any that make the standard exhaust.....if anyone has any links would be appreciated!
