Default Snapped tensioner bolt

I've snapped the rear bolt tightening the tensioner, my own stupid fault, how can I remove it? I don't know if there are threads showing or not as I've shut the bonnet and come inside, does the bolt go right to the end of the threads or does it just tighten to the tensioner? Does anyone know what size the bolts are?

Cheers in advance, neil

Might be lucky and it'll turn out, failing that, drill the body of the screw out and re tap the thread

my car was being tuned by power engineering years ago and my cam belt was deemed lose so they tightened it and snapped one of my bolts off and left me to my own devices to get it home(it goes without saying i never used them again).

The way me and my mate got it out was to take the tensioner off and there was a little stub sticking out of the block so we kept dropping bits of weld onto it till it built up and undone it with mole grips, hope this makes sense and good luck

lol ive done that a couple of times lol and go to ford and get a couple of new ones as they are about 40p each .

Is it snapped flush if it isnt remove the tensioner and get a small pair of grips on the and lock them tight and slowly work it out .

if it is snapped flush u can get a tool called a easy out its like a stud extractor but acts like a drill bit as you wind it in till its tight , them reverse it locks in the stud and will wind it out. you can get them from most motor factors or snap on and maybe halfords.

just weld a nut on the end let it cool and wind it out saves doing any drilling etc...
