Sorry to hear that mate, hopefully in a years time it will be all systems go again. Could you persuade any of your mates to drive to Ford Fair. If you were nearer to me i would offer you a lift as i will be going anyway.

Anybody on here able to give this fella a lift if you're passing his area?

thats crap news mate,my missis suffers with a sort of epilepsy.she had a fit out of the blue about 5 and half years ago, went to the doctors who didnt really want to know to be honest.she had a second fit and went grey and swallowed her tongue,i had to stick my fingers in her mouth and save her,she nearly bit my bastard fingers off.she came round in the hospital and didnt know what had gone off.hospital were spot on and sent her to the nuerology department at the hallamshire in sheffield.els now on tablets called lamotrigine, which touch wood have controlled the fits, even while she was pregnant.as someone else has said, spend money on the car while its off the road

Sorry to hear this mate,I was wrongly diagnosed with epilepsy a few years ago after having a couple of blackouts.License taken away for a few months and it absolutely did my head in.Illness I can cope with,no driving I can not.
I hope in the future things get better for you.

I had water on the brain at 14 which caused me some serious side effects, one of which is epilepsy. Keeping a good sleeping pattern will help with a good nights sleep. Going out and getting plastered and then getting up to go to work, college and stuff doesn't help.

If you are on medication, I am on tegratol take it vigarously. I missed mine once for a few days as the chemist had none, and although I never had a fit, I had the flashing stars which is the start of a fit.

If you do have a fit, make sure your family members know not to try and pick you up. This will cause you more harm than good. Get a pillow and tell them to try and rest you, making sure your arms and stuff don't hit anything. I've seen nurses try and pick a man up and he fell back down twice and cut his face and hurt his elbow. These are trained professionals, and they fucked up.

Take it easy, and hopefully in a year you'll be on the road again and fighting fit. I spent about 6 months at one point in and out of bed, fitting with whacking great migraines and it wasn't pleasent. Medicine these days is like a miracle drug, and I've not had one for years!

P.S Sounds daft, but make sure you've been correctly diagnosed. There are similar things like classic migraine, and I was diagnosed with this and the medication did nothing. Only for seeing a different specialist I was correctly diagnosed and put on Tegratol. I live in Liverpool and don't go to many shows, but if I do and you wanna' come, you're welcome.

Benni.
