ever since i fitted a gripper diff it was always very noisey, clonking, grinding etc thought thats just what they were like, but worked fine,i had the shafts and springs off the car yesterday tryin to find out why my car was driving so bad. only thing i found was the drivers side shaft was nt in the cv joint properly, shaft is knackered! the splines is all fucked where it must have been out of the cv totally and has been spinning against it,fitted new shaft today, now the noise was more or less totally gone, car was driving 100% again
so had a drive around the block, back into the yard and the noise is back again,i think it has pulled the shaft out of the cv again
what is going on???? did nt have the heart to even look , just stuck it in the garage and walked away before i put a match to her! its the drivers side shaft that its happening too at the diff side, car is 2wd

I may be wrong here but aren't the driveshafts slightly different lengths?
If you have the shorter one on the wrong side, it may put more tension on the shaft, dislodging the circlip and allowing the shaft to move in the splines.
Just a thought.
