Default which clutch is best?

hi all im after a bit of advice,i have an all out erst project nearly half way through but due to getting carried away with the spec its gona take a bit more time and alot more money, but ive just had enough of driving around in a 1.6 bog standard astra mk5 as you could proberly imagin, ive got hold of an erst shell ive got a fully rebuilt 1.6 cvh turbo engine with a uprated cam and a 360 bearing in the turbo and a -31 actuator, once ive got it in and up and running il get the ecu chipped and set up il be happy to achive 180 ish bhp for an everyday run about, can i get away with a standard clutch or will i be best going for something uprated?

cheers

Limit for standard clutch is said to be 180 ish.

I got a Helix uprated clutch (not yet delivered) from 'rallynuts' which may be as far as you could go without fitting an AP paddle clutch which I think will be up to coping with 200ish bhp.

But if you go the AP paddle clutch route you have the bother of dismantling the clutch pedal and replacing it with one from a MK5/6 escort and replacing the clutch quadrant etc as per AP's recommended instructions but will cope with more power.

with the cp 2000-8 you still have to replace the pedal and the quadrant as recommended by AP.

True but on the limit. If you are paying someone to do it for you then your best bet is to build it to cope with more power than you are running. That way you should not have any issues. Otherwise you may need to pull it out again at a later date and fit an uprated one and wish you had in the first place.
